Departures
We can see that it's not like going in holidays! In fact for our category, there will be 37 countries.
The competiton will begin with a Lightning Round (July 28th) which is a short presentation based on a PowerPoint (about 10min). This round is for the judges to get to know us and our project, so relaw.
On July 29th, we'll begin our formal presentation and demonstration. Of course, we'll have to answer the judges's questions. It will be an intense day for us. In fact, there are 4 pools and we're in the same pool than Brazil, India, Jamaica, Lebanon, Portugal, Russia, Spain, Sweden and United Kingdom. It seems to be a hard pool but... In fact, this round is called the Yokohama Round and only 6 teams will be selected for the Championship Round.
On July 30th, it's a day off. We'll get imersed in the Japanese culture in visiting a beautiful garden and in attending some local activities. The day we'll end with a Digital Theater. Of course, we'll also know if we'll take part to the Championship Round!
On July 31th, it's the final day for Software Design with presentation and demonstration on stage in an auditorium... For the others, it's free morning or local activities. In the afternoon, it's the announcement of the world champions in others categories.
August 1st is the day when we'll announce the placement of the top teams in Software Design Invitational. The day will be completed by an Awards Ceremony including speakers, entertainment, etc...
On August 2nd, we'll leave to go home... maybe with the cup ;-)
It'll be a great week for our team! Let's notice that all our presentation will be powered by a flashy video clip thanks to Olivier Borremans!
See you soon in Japan,
Jay
